Confirm your details in the app

Because you've been a patient at Northcare, we have your health details stored in our system. Follow the screen prompts and answer the questions in the app to verify your identity. This helps us correctly match you with your medical records. 

You're all set to go!

From the app you can now book a clinic or online appointment, get your medical notes, order repeat prescriptions, see test results and securely message your care team. Note it may take a couple of days for all your data to migrate across.

ACCESSING CARE

How do I book an appointment?

It's easiest to book appointments via the app. However you can still phone 09 479 7770 to talk to someone from our team or alternatively email us at constellationdr@tend.nz. When calling during peak times you may be put on hold.

Are the opening hours changing? 

No, clinic hours have not changed and remain the same, with additional online consults available via the Tend app, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Is the pricing going to be the same?

Yes, all general consult pricing remains the same.

Can I still access the Manage My Health portal?

No, you will no longer be able to access this. The Tend app replaces this patient portal.

How long is a Tend appointment?

A standard GP consult is 15 minutes. If you have several conditions to discuss, we recommend you book a 30 minute appointment to allow sufficient time and care.

Can I order repeat scripts?

Yes! Great news you can now order repeat prescriptions for any long-term medications directly from the app. Go to 'Request medications' on the home screen. Depending on your condition(s) and the medication, we may require you to see a doctor occasionally in person before a new prescription can be issued. 

If you're due for a refill/repeat, we'll send you a reminder when you're running low and you can re-order right in the app. 

Can I still see my regular doctor or nurse?

Yes. Most of the team remains the same. Rest assured that you'll still see the same familiar faces around.


PATIENT RECORDS & SECURITY
What will happen to my patient records?

We moved your patient records to Tend's Patient Management System at the time of integration.

Are my records safe during this transfer?

Absolutely, patient confidentiality and security of your health records is paramount. Record transfer is a confidential secure electronic process overseen by the Ministry of Health.

Who gave Tend permission to have my records transferred to them?

The PHO/DHB contract that Northcare Accident & Medical was operating under allows the transfer of patients to another clinic operating under the same contract when clinics close or sell.

How secure is my patient information?

Tend operates in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. We can absolutely assure you that at Tend, none of your medical information is ever shared with any third parties. 

This information is kept on a secure Patient Management System (PMS) and is only accessible by clinical teams or clinical administration teams of the company.

How secure is the app payment gateway?

At Tend we use bank-grade security and all your payment details are encrypted. 

The app is asking for my FacelD/fingerprint/ passcode. Does Tend know my phone's passcode?

No, Tend does not know your passcode. For added security, the Tend app asks your phone's operating system (iOS or Android} to secure your personal info in the Tend app with face ID, fingerprint, or your passcode. The app does not know or store this information. Your phone's operating system validates your passcode or biometrics, and informs the Tend app if the security check passed or failed.

Has anything else changed?

Apart from the app, not a lot has changed. You will continue to see many familiar faces from Northcare Accident & Medical.

THE TEND APP
What is the Tend app?

The app is like a patient portal, but much more! From the app you can book appointments, check test results and order repeat prescriptions. 

You can also have a video consult, view your consult notes and book medical services such as vaccinations. We send you appointment reminders and recalls via the app, helping you keep on top of your healthcare.

Do I need to use the app?

The app is not compulsory, but it is a very powerful tool for clinicians and patients alike. Around 80% of Tend patients choose to use the Tend app.

Can we use the app if we share an email address?

Individuals 18 and over need their own email address. It must be unique to you and not one you share with someone else. Your unique email address attached to your Tend account helps us securely engage and share any personal health information with you. Setting up a new email takes just a few minutes. For children under 18, a parent or guardian can include them as dependents under their Tend account.

Do I have to upload my credit card details?

It's not compulsory for Tend Constellation Drive patients, but we recommend it as it does make life just that little bit easier. If you'd rather not upload your payment details, that's completely okay. You can continue to book without a credit card so long as you keep your account up to date via bank transfer or pay in-clinic. 

Can I access my test results in the app?

Yes! When we migrated your records across to Tend, any past test results that were on file will be loaded on the Tend app. You can access these from the home screen tap 'View test results.' Any lab, radiology or future test results will also be included here.

Note it may take a few days for your results to migrate across.

Do I need to provide any ID?

No. You don't need to upload your ID in the app; we already have that information securely on file. It's just a quick matching of medical records.

I manage the healthcare of an adult, can I manage their care from my app?

We are currently exploring the feature of securely adding adult dependents on an account with privacy terms and a consent process. This would be for situations when an adult requires a caregiver's support for managing their healthcare, or someone has power of attorney to make decisions on the adult’s behalf.

Can I get some help with the app?

Of course! Look out for our support team in the clinic or ask at the front desk, they will be more than happy to assist you and show you how it works.
