What is happening?

As mentioned last year, Chadwick Healthcare has been sold and is transitioning to Tend Health in March 2024

Chadwick has been sold to Tend Health
Familiar friendly faces and care continues

You'll still get to see your favourite doctors and nurses. They'll be supported by the Tend whānau to ensure you get the best possible healthcare experience.

We'll be in touch in
mid March

You don't need to do anything just yet. We'll be in touch closer to the time of integration to help you get set up.

Can I still see my regular doctor or nurse?

Yes. Most of the clinical and supporting staff will remain the same. Rest assured that you'll still see the same familiar faces around.

What will the opening hours be?

Clinic hours

Your clinic hours have not changed, you can find an up to date list here

Online hours

Weekdays: 7:00am - 9:00pm
Weekends: 9:00am - 9:00pm

Is the pricing going to be the same?

Yes, all general consult pricing will remain the same.

How long is a Tend appointment?

A standard doctor consult is 15 minutes. If you have several conditions to discuss, we recommend you book a 30 minute appointment to allow sufficient time and care.

Do I need to download the Tend app?

You can, but you will only be able to use the “See the next GP” service in the short term. From 18 March we will migrate your records from Manage My Health to Tend’s system, once this is done you will be invited to authorise that your health records become available on the app. This will happen from 24 March. From then you will be able to use the app to manage all your health records, bookings, prescriptions and communications.

What will happen to my patient records?

Your patient records will be transferred safely and securely across to Tend's patient management system by 18 March 2024. Once complete the care team will have visibility of your health history in the Tend platform and we can continue to provide your care.

Are my records safe during this transfer?

Absolutely, patient confidentiality and security of your health records is paramount. Records transfer is a confidential secure electronic process overseen by the Ministry of Health.

Who gave Tend permission to have my records transferred to them?

The PHO/DHB contract that Chadwick Healthcare was operating under allows the transfer of patients to another clinic operating under the same contract when clinics close or sell.

How secure is my patient information?

Tend operates in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. We can absolutely assure you that at Tend, none of your medical information is ever shared with any third parties.

This information is kept on a secure Patient Management System (PMS) and is only accessible by clinical teams or clinical administration teams of the company.

How do I book an appointment during transition?

You can continue to book an appointment by calling reception on 07 579 0144 or emailing reception@chadhealth.co.nz

When we transition to Tend and you'll be able to download the app and create an account. You'll be able to book appointments via the app seamlessly from 25 March.

You will still have the option to call or email us if you prefer.

What is the See the Next GP service?
When is the change happening?

From 18 March we will be changing to Tend. You don‘t need to do anything just yet, we will be in touch closer to the time to help you get set up.

What happens to the Manage My Health portal?

Once we integrate you will no longer need to use Manage My Health. The Tend app replaces this patient portal.

My doctor has recently left, who do I see?

We are currently recruiting new doctors to fill vacancies. If you have ongoing long term conditions we will be working on allocating you a new care team at the time of integration.  In the short term, you’re welcome to book an appointment with whomever is available.

Who is Tend?

Tend is a healthcare company that's owned and operated right here in New Zealand. We started in 2020 by a group of entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and technologists who wanted to make it easier for Kiwis to get the healthcare they need when they need it. We believe that in a country with 5 million people, nobody should miss out on healthcare. So we decided to change things for the better.

What makes Tend special?

Think of Tend as your modern-day doctor, but even better! We're changing the way healthcare works in Aotearoa by using technology to make things faster and more convenient for you. Instead of waiting on the phone to get an appointment or for weeks to see a doctor, Tend lets you do everything from the palm of your hand. You can book appointments, talk to a doctor, get test results, and much more, from the Tend app.

Why does Tend exist?

Our main goal is to help Kiwis like you stay healthy. We're not just about fixing problems when they happen; we want to prevent them from happening in the first place. Tend cares about your wellbeing and wants to make sure you have access to the best healthcare possible when you need it.

What's Tend's big dream?

Tend has a big vision for the future of healthcare in New Zealand. We are an ambitious team who are driven by a purpose to help New Zealanders be the healthiest people in the world.

Our dream is to build a 100-year-old Kiwi-owned healthcare company for our future generations. This dream entails creating a world-class healthcare system meticulously crafted and owned by caring Kiwis, ensuring that every individual receives top-notch healthcare tailored to their needs.

What is the benefit of the Tend app?

Like a patient portal, you can book appointments, check test results and order repeat prescriptions. However you can also have a video consultation, view you consult notes and book medical services such as immunisations, We will also send you appointment reminders and recalls via the app, helping you keep on top of your healthcare.

The app makes things faster and more convenient for you. So less waiting on the phone to get an appointment or for weeks to see a doctor.

Do I need to use the Tend app?

The app is not compulsory, but it is a very powerful tool for clinicians and patients alike. Around 80% of Tend patients choose to use the Tend app.

Can I still phone to book an appointment?

Absolutely. You can still phone 07 579 0144 to talk to one of our friendly team members. During peak times you may be put on hold.

Will you be hiring more clinical staff?

We are always on the lookout for GPs, nurse practitioners, nurse prescribers and registered nurses to join the team.

I can’t get an appointment when I need one?

We recognise there are long wait times to see a GP, this is a nationwide problem. If you can't get a timely appointment you could try the online GP service offered by Tend Health.

See the Chadwick website for more information about this service.

Many medical services such as immunisations, ECGs, blood tests and screenings are delivered by our wider clinical team. Please talk to reception about your needs, as a senior nurse may be suitable.

Will there be people to help with the integration?

Of course! When we integrate, just talk to someone at the front desk and they will be able to help.
