Linwood Medical Centre is now part of Tend Health
Familiar friendly faces and care continues

You'll still get to see your favourite doctors and nurses. They'll be supported by the Tend whānau to ensure you get the best possible healthcare experience.

We will be in touch early May

You do not need to do anything just yet. We will be in touch closer to the time of integration to help you get set up. But if you need urgent care, check out our online doctor service below.

I can’t get an appointment when I need one?

We recognise there are long wait times to see a GP, this is a nationwide problem. If you can't get a timely appointment you could try Tend’s Online Now GP service.

Many medical services such as immunisations, ECGs, blood tests and screenings are delivered by our wider clinical team. Please talk to reception about your needs, as a senior nurse may be suitable.

Are my records safe during this transfer?

Absolutely, patient confidentiality and security of your health records is paramount. Records transfer is a confidential secure electronic process overseen by the Ministry of Health.

Who gave Tend permission to have my records transferred to them?

The PHO/DHB contract that Linwood Medical Centre was operating under allows the transfer of patients to another clinic operating under the same contract when clinics close or sell.

How secure is my patient information?

Tend operates in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. We can absolutely assure you that at Tend, none of your medical information is ever shared with any third parties.

Your information is kept on a secure Patient Management System (PMS) and is only accessible by clinical teams or clinical administration teams of the company.

Will there be people to help with the integration?

Of course! When we integrate, just talk to someone at the front desk and they will be able to help.

Who is Tend?

Tend is a Kiwi-owned healthcare company that began in 2020. Tend was founded by a group of entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and technologists who wanted to make it easier for Kiwis to get the healthcare they need, when they need it.

What makes Tend different to other GP clinics?

Tend's main goal is to help Kiwis like you stay healthy. We're not just about fixing problems when they happen; we want to prevent them from happening in the first place. Tend uses an app to help patients manage their healthcare. We care about your wellbeing and want to make sure you have access to the best healthcare possible when you need it.

From the app you can:

  • Book in-clinic and online appointments
  • See a doctor online, 7 days a week until 9pm
  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • Get access to your test results
  • Manage your medications
  • Securely message your care team

Online hours

Weekdays: 7:00am - 9:00pm

Weekends: 9:00am - 9:00pm

Can I still see my regular doctor or nurse?

Yes. Most of the clinical and supporting staff will remain the same. Rest assured that you'll still see the same familiar faces around.

My doctor has recently left, who do I see?

We are currently recruiting new doctors to fill vacancies. If you have ongoing long term conditions we will be working on allocating you a new care team at the time of integration. In the short term, you’re welcome to book an appointment with whomever is available.
